KVPS seeks action against civic chief
The representatives of Kula Vivaksha Porata Samiti demanded the government to file SC and ST atrocity case on Palamuru Chairperson Radha Amar for showing caste discrimination on Mahbubnagar Municipal Commissioner Devsingh Naik. The submitted a memorandum to the statue of Dr B R Ambedkar at ZP Centre here on Thursday.
Khammam: The representatives of Kula Vivaksha Porata Samiti demanded the government to file SC and ST atrocity case on Palamuru Chairperson Radha Amar for showing caste discrimination on Mahbubnagar Municipal Commissioner Devsingh Naik. The submitted a memorandum to the statue of Dr B R Ambedkar at ZP Centre here on Thursday.
Speaking on the occasion, district president of the Samiti M Venkateshwarlu said that as per rule the Municipal Commissioner would hoist the national flag at the Municipal office on Republic Day. But Chairperson Radha Amar told the attender to hoist the flag, insulting Devsingh Naik, who belongs to lower caste.
He explained that Municipal Commissioner Devsingh went home to refresh before attending the programme as he was busy with the arrangements since 6 am on the day. But Chairperson Radha Amar, without waiting for him to turn out, hoisted the flag by the office attender. Venkateswarlu allged that since Devsingh Naik belongs to lower caste, the Chairperson intentionally insulted him.
Recalling the Rohith Vemula, UoH student who allegedly committed suicide due to discrimination, he said the government must take immediate action to stop such incidents. Venkateshwarlu demanded that ST and AC atrocity case to be slapped on Chairperson Radha Amar along with suspending UoH Vice-Chancellor Appa Rao and Central Ministers Bandaru Dattatreya and Smriti Irani.
KVPS leaders N Manohar, G Bheemaiah, M Prasad, N Chiranjeevi, PRPS leaders Dr B V Raghavulu, M Babu Rao, K Ramulu, Sadanandam and N Srinivas were present along with others.
