Collector conducts People’s Rights Day
District Collector Yogita Rana. She participated in the ‘People’s Rights Day’
Jukkal: “All are equal in the society,” said District Collector Yogita Rana. She participated in the ‘People’s Rights Day’ at Maddelacheruvu in Jukkal constituency on Saturday. Joint Collector Ravinder Reddy and SP Chandrashekhar Reddy were also present.
Speaking on the occasion, Collector Rana said ‘Peoples’ Rights Day’ would be conducted on the 30th of every month at all mandal headquarters to prevent social discrimination. She said that the government would take severe action against those who discriminate Dalits. “Dalits can fight social discrimination through economic development.
Therefore, they should use government schemes effectively for their development,” Rana said. She further said that the government was providing skill development training to the village youth through DRDA.
SP Chandrashekhar Reddy said the district-level officials were visiting Dalit colonies to bring confidence among them. JC Ravinder Reddy said social discrimination was more in rural areas then urban areas. Bodhan RDO Shyamprasad Lal, DSP Venkateshwarlu and local public representatives participated in the meeting.
