GHMC elections: Polling taking place peacefully

Commissioner of Police Mahender Reddy who cast his vote in Chinmaya School in Kundanbagh today for the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections stated that the polling is taking place all over Hyderabad peacefully.

The Commissioner further informed that 25,000 policemen have been deployed for the polls for the security arrangements and added that additional forces have been arranged in sensitive areas to ensure smooth polling. 7,802 polling stations have been set up in 24 Assembly constituencies under the GHMC limits and a total of 74,23,980 voters are expected to decide the political fortunes of 1,333 candidates in the elections.
