Karimnagar: Keeping in view the heavy influx of devotees, the authorities of Vemulawada Raja Rajeshwara Swamy temple decided to keep the temple open round the clock.
They cancelled all ‘arjita sevas’ for two days and also allowed devotees for ‘laghu darshanam’. The crowd at the temple has been increasing each day since it is customary for the devotees to have darshan of Lord Shiva before visiting the biannual Medaram Sammakka Sarakka Jatara, slated to commence from February 17.
The pilgrims have to wait in long queues for at least four hours to have Lord’s darshan. With the swell of devotees, the temple registered a record revenue during the last two weeks. It received Rs 1.47 crore cash and 239 grams gold and 15 kilograms of silver items through offerings and sale of various seva tickets from January 22 to February 6.
