Parents demand justice over son’s death

Nizamabad: The parents of deceased child, Srikar (15) urged the government to render justice to them by punishing the accused who killed their son on December 2 at Armoor town in the district. Speaking to the media on Tuesday, the parents lamented that their son was brutally murdered by his classmates.

Goli Srinivas and Sujatha are natives of Venkateshwara Colony, Armoor and they have two children. Their younger son Srikar (15) was studying in the tenth class at Vijay Public School in Armoor town. On the evening of December 2, Srikar’s classmates came to his house and took him along with them. After a few hours, Srikar’s body was found lying near the Vijetha Apartment in the town.

Srinivas, Srikar’s Father said that on December 2, his son’s friends Mani Chandra, Sai Chandra, Sakshit Goud and their teacher Girish took him from his house and beat him up with cricket bats and sticks near the premises of the Vijetha Apartment, accusing him of stealing their school books and as a result, he died on the spot.

The deceased’s father said that they complained to the Armoor police and also took up the matter with the Nizamabad Superintendent of Police, but though the police registered a case, they failed to take any action till now against the accused. He said that they have been making rounds to the office of the Superintendent of Police and also to the press club several times seeking justice.

Srinivas and Sujatha alleged that the police department was under political pressure not to take any action against the accused. The parents urged the State government and media to render justice to them and bring the culprits to book. If the police fail in providing justice, they would be forced to launch a hunger strike in front of district Collectorate, they warned. .
