Adilabad: District Superintendent of Police Dr Tarun Joshi urged the policemen to become computer savvy so that they would be in a better position to tackle cyber crimes.

They should know how to work on computers effectively, he added. Participating in the concluding session of the three-day workshop on “Investigations into cyber crimes” at the district police training centre in the town on Tuesday, Dr Joshi said that that policemen should be able to take steps and prevent online banking crimes, and they should know how to use the social media and mobile networking.

They should increase their awareness about data storage, cloning and wiping and other aspects relating to the use of computers. The Superintendent of Police said that the police officers would be sent to the Forensic laboratory in Hyderbad for imparting better quality training.

Additional Superintendent of Police G R Radhika, Reserve Inspector Surendra, Circle Inspectors Raghu and Mohan and Sub-Inspectors of Police were present.
