Khammam: Demanding the release of scholarships and fee reimbursement amounts immediately, the Student Federation of India would launch a two-day hunger strike from Wednesday, according to its district secretary L Balaraju.

Speaking to the media here on Tuesday, he said, “The government is playing games with the lives of the students by not releasing the scholarship and fee reimbursement amounts for the past two years.

It has been concentrating only on winning the elections neglecting the problems of students. The government is trying to cheat the students by not mentioning pending bills of scholarships and fee reimbursement in the budget for the financial years 2014-15.”

The SFI leader demanded the government that they should allot funds for fee reimbursement and release the bills immediately before the commencement of budget session.

To exert pressure on the government, the SFI would launch a hunger strike and also besiege the district Collectorate with thousands of students, he added. SFI district president Naga Raju, vice-president Ramesh, Hemanth, Kiran, Shanti Kumar and Vamshi and others were present.
