Nalgonda: Health, Education and Women Welfare and Child Development departments should work together and achieve the target of administering Albendazole tablets to eight lakh children in the district, district collector P Satyanarayana Reddy said.

The District Collector has formally launched the distribution of Albendazole tablets to the students at DIET Centre in Nalgonda on Wednesday, in connection with Worm-Free day.

Speaking on the occasion, Satyanarayana Reddy said that normally parasitic works (Helminths) is considered as a simple problem, but it has serious consequences like it may impact the brain development and cause anaemia in children.

Distribution of Albendazole tablets to eight lakh children in the district is the target. Directing the officials to distribute the tablets to children at Schools and Anganwadi centres without fail, he suggested them to keep some tablets with the head masters of the schools to supply them to the students, who were absent during the distribution.

District Education Officer Vishwanatha Rao, District Medical and Health Officer Dr Bhanu Prasad Naik, ICDS Project Director Mothi and others were also attended the programme.
