Diamond hunters gang arrested

Madikonda police took a 15-member gang of diamond hunters into custody on Thursday. The gang members were accused of destroying a stone idol of Lord Ganesh in search for diamonds.
Warangal: Madikonda police took a 15-member gang of diamond hunters into custody on Thursday. The gang members were accused of destroying a stone idol of Lord Ganesh in search for diamonds.
They were arrested by police during vehicle inspections at Urs area in the city while going to dispose the remains of the idol. Madikonda CI P David Raj informed that the accused have stolen 5 feet Ganesh idol from Trikuteshwaralayam at Kondaparthy in Hanamkonda Mandal on November 15, 2015.
A case in this connection was booked at Madikonda station. All the gang members were produced in the court later in the evening.
