Prepare proposals for irrigation water

​Karimnagar: Finance and Civil Supplies Minister E Rajender wanted the officials to prepare proposals for irrigation water, based on the availability of water in the district.

The Minister conducted a review meeting with the officials on the irrigation water sources at the Collectorate conference hall here on Thursday. Speaking on the occasion, he told the officials to prepare proposals keeping in mind both drought and drought-free areas and it was the officials’ responsibility to see that all villages will get irrigation water.

The officials should prepare the final report by consulting local MLAs and other public representatives, he advised and opined that lift irrigation projects should be given top priority in the planning. He asked the officials to get more funds sanctioned by giving more priority to the works taken up under Mission Kakatiya programme in the district.

Promising to construct ‘percolation’ tanks in dry areas like Sircilla and Husnabad, the Minister said proposals should be prepared to construct check dams to utilise re-generated water under Sri Ram Sagar Project. Water released from industries and towns should be utilised for irrigation purposes by clearing it in treatment plants, he said.
