Tandur (Ranga Reddy): Abundant availability of liquor in belt shops and even in provision stores all over the villages is vitiating the law and order condition in Tandur mandal as the drunken brawls have become a commonplace here.

As a result of the brawls, women and children are dreading to venture out of homes after sunset. Moreover, the drunkards are consuming liquor in public places such as schools and panchayat offices. After consuming liquor, they are breaking the bottles thereby giving a harrowing time to the people and the students those who need to use those places.

On the other hand, the drunkard spending their hard-earned money on liquor is also leading to quite a few family disputes. While the excise police are reportedly turning a blind eye to the incidents, the civil police have conducted raids and registered about 20 cases.

When Excise circle inspector Bharath Bhushan sought clarification for the inaction, he claimed that he had no information about the untoward developments. He said he would take necessary action if anything brought to his notice.
