Khammam: The representatives of the journalist unions had met Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao here in Khammam on Tuesday and urged him to allot the double bedroom houses for journalists like that of Hyderabad and Warangal.

Telangana Union of Working Journalist (TUWJ) general secretary Syed Ismail had requested the Chief Minister to take initiation for allotting the place at the earliest by giving orders to the officials concerned along with allotting the funds in the ensuing budget for the construction of the journalist colony.

Responding to their request, Rao had assured them and gave orders to officials to search for a place immediately for the construction of the Journalist colony. The union leaders thanked the Chief Minister for taking immediate decision and solving the long pending problem of construction of houses to journalists here in Khammam district.

TUWJ president Akuthota Adinarayana, IJU State vice president K Ramnarayana and general secretary Gogireddy Srinivas Reddy, Electronic Media Journalists Union district president Nagendar and its general secretary Khadeer and Press Club president K Gopi were present along with others.
