KCR misses the first Medaram Jatara in separate Telangana
Even though huge number of VIPs visited the Medaram Jatara, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has missed the opportunity of the first Jatara in separate Telangana. The CM was scheduled to visit Medaram on Friday to offer prayers to the deities, to inaugurate IT Incubation Centre and lay foundation stone for the office building of an IT firm Cyient at Madikonda in Warangal.
Medaram (Warangal): Even though huge number of VIPs visited the Medaram Jatara, Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has missed the opportunity of the first Jatara in separate Telangana. The CM was scheduled to visit Medaram on Friday to offer prayers to the deities, to inaugurate IT Incubation Centre and lay foundation stone for the office building of an IT firm Cyient at Madikonda in Warangal.
But his tour was cancelled as he was reportedly taken ill. It might be noted that it has been a practice for KCR to visit Medaram during every Jatara since he launched the statehood movement way back in the year 2001. This time he had the chance of offering prayers as the Chief Minister of Telangana at the Jatara was taking place for the first time in separate Telangana State.
The premises of Gaddelu were decorated with flowers specially procured from Bengaluru spending Rs 20 lakh, which was donated by granite traders Vaddiraju brothers. The next opportunity for Chief Minister Chandrshekar Rao to offer prayers to the deities during Jatara would be in 2018, in which the biannual Sammakka Saralamma Jatara would take place.
On the other hand, many devotees have deferred their visit to Medaram on Friday in view of the CM’s scheduled tour as they were afraid of facing difficulty as the VIPs’ presence could hold up normal flow of devotees in the queue lines. Meanwhile, the officials were putting up hard efforts to ensure smooth conduct of the Jatara.
District Collector Vakati Karuna, IG V Naveen Chand, DIG B Malla Reddy, rural SP Ambar Kishor Jha, Joint Collector Prashanth J Patil and others were engaged in monitoring the Jatara round the clock.
