Karimnagar: Zilla Parishad chairperson Tula Uma said that the welfare and developmental schemes introduced by the State and Central governments have not been reaching the poor and the downtrodden. An intensive public information campaign would help in taking the government’s schemes to the door step of the needy people, she felt.

Participating in a three-day Public Information campaign in Huzurabad on Tuesday, the Zilla Parishad chairperson, who was the chief guest on the occasion, said Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao has introduced a number of welfare and developmental schemes for making the State ‘Bangaru Telangana’.

Fine variety rice to hostel students, old age and widow pension were some of the schemes introduced by the State government. Though State has commenced a number of schemes, they have not been getting hundred per cent results as they were not reaching the people at the grassroots level.

Appreciating the Public Information Bureau (PIB) for organising Public Information Campaign, she said that the programme would help government in taking the schemes to the needy. She told the students to get details about various welfare schemes displayed in 50 stalls as part of campaign and inform about them to the public belonging to the surrounding areas.
