Wankidi (Adilabad): The officials of the Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) prevented a child marriage here at Kunana village of Wankidi mandal on Friday.
As per details, a couple from Kunana village, Vinesh and Anita, wanted to get their daughter Kavita (16) married to Mahesh of Basnapur village at 10.30 am on Friday.
Acting on a tip off, the ICDS officials rushed to the spot, stopped the marriage and offered counselling to the parents in the presence of villagers. Tahsildar Hamid and ICDS supervisor Sattemma were present.
