Vemulawada temple earns 13.14 cr through hair auction

Hyderabad-based firm, Vikas Enterprises has bagged the tender for auction of human hair of Vemulawada Rajarajeshwara Swamy temple for Rs 13.14 crore, at the auction here on Saturday. The Shrine managed to get an additional amount of Rs 94 lakh from hair auction, compared to the Rs 12.20 crore gained in last year.
Karimnagar: Hyderabad-based firm, Vikas Enterprises has bagged the tender for auction of human hair of Vemulawada Rajarajeshwara Swamy temple for Rs 13.14 crore, at the auction here on Saturday. The Shrine managed to get an additional amount of Rs 94 lakh from hair auction, compared to the Rs 12.20 crore gained in last year.
Earlier the temple was forced to cancel the auction twice as the contractors didn’t show interest to spend more than Rs 12.20 crore, the amount which the authorities decided as the starting bid. But on Saturday, seven members have participated in the auction and the temple management started the auction amount from Rs 12.20 crore.
