Karimnagar: MP and Chairman of District Vigilance and Monitoring Committee (DV&MC) Vinod Kumar expressed concern over the non-utilisation of Rs 3.72 crore funds sanctioned for the district under National Health Mission for the financial year 2015-16. Though the current financial year is going to conclude within a month, majority of the rural level health officials lack clarity over the funds’ allotment, he added.

The issue was discussed during the DV&MC meeting held at the Collectorate hall here on Saturday which was chaired by the MP. Finance and Civil Supplies Minister Eatala Rajender also attended the meeting. Speaking on the occasion, Vinod Kumar expressed concern for not utilising the funds allocated under different heads for rural health and sanitation, institutional deliveries and to enhance facilities in health centres.

The MP wanted the officials to complete the entire process by the end of March so that the funds would not be returned. Finance Minister Eatala Rajender promised to sanction washing machines to all hospitals in the district. Asking the officials of District Medical and Health department to forward proposals, he assured to sanction the amount within 48 hours of receiving proposal.
