Hyderabad: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Mayor Bonthu Rammohan seems to be a firm believer of Vaastu. According to sources, he had asked the officials to shift his office from the present ground floor to the seventh floor where a new conference hall is under construction.

Mayor is said to be following the advice of Telangana government’s Vaastu consultant Suddala Sudhakar Teja. The GHMC sources said Sudhakar Teja went round the building and told the mayor that having the office on the first floor was against Vaastu. He told the mayor that his office was facing the Telugu Thalli flyover and hence it should be shifted to the higher level than the flyover.

Following this, Teja, who inspected the seventh floor where the new hall is under construction, suggested that the seventh floor would be suitable for mayor office. The GHMC has so far spent Rs 1.5 crore to construct the hall meant to hold review meetings.

As a result, the officials are now taking up the works to convert it into the Mayor’s office at an estimated cost of Rs 25 lakh. It may be mentioned here that when Majid Hussain took over as the Mayor last time, the GHMC had spent about Rs 10 lakh to renovate the office.
