GHMC puts HMR in tax defaulters’ list
Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) has locked horns with Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC)
Hyderabad: Hyderabad Metro Rail Limited (HMRL) has locked horns with Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) over unpaid
property tax dues amounting to Rs 4 crore, forcing the latter to put HMR in the list of property tax defaulters for the financial year 2015-
16. According to the GHMC officials, HMRL owes property tax worth Rs 3,92,24,232 during the current financial year. They said that
collecting property tax from HMRL properties had become an uphill task for the GHMC.
The GHMC revenue wing officials reminded HMRL about their pending property tax dues and even commissioner B Janardhan Reddy wrote
a letter to HMRL MD N V S Reddy asking him to clear the dues at the earliest. However, the GHMC officials clarified that the HMRL officials
had agreed to clear all pending dues by March first week.
