Warangal: The menace of rebel candidates is not limited just to the ruling TRS in Greater Warangal Municipal Corporation (GWMC) polls. The district Congress is also facing the rebels’ problem in the backdrop of GWMC polls. The party is compelled to expel five rebel candidates who are in the fray.

The party district president N Rajender Reddy told The Hans India on Saturday that five rebels were expelled from the party following the directions from the TPCC. The expelled candidates are Ch Prakash and S Aruna of sixth division in Wardhannapet assembly segment.

Ch Dhanraj in 39 division, K Sambaiah in 51 division and N Srinu in 55 division in Warangal (West) assembly segment, he added. On the other hand, the political migrations into the ruling TRS are still continuing even as the GWMC election campaigning is ended and polling is scheduled on Sunday. On Saturday, six senior workers of Congress have joined the TRS in the presence of Warangal (West) MLA D Vinay Bhasker.
