The 45th national safety week celebrations are being held  at NTPC-Ramagundam in a befitting manner from March 4 onwards. As part of the celebrations, awards were distributed among the winners of different competitions here on Tuesday. 

Ramagundam (Karimnagar): The 45th national safety week celebrations are being held at NTPC-Ramagundam in a befitting manner from March 4 onwards. As part of the celebrations, awards were distributed among the winners of different competitions here on Tuesday.

During this week-long celebrations, various competitions like safety quiz competitions for ladies, safety suggestion competition for Agency employees, usage of self-containment breathing apparatus set both for NTPC and agency employees, safety drawing competition for children, essay writing competitions, safety training and awareness for Agency employees and demonstrating the use of fire extinguishers for school children and public etc were organised to create safety awareness.

The chief guest of the occasion, M Praveen Kumar, Deputy Chief Inspector of Factories (Karimnagar), administered the safety pledge and appreciated the NTPC for its proactive measures in ensuring safety. Echoing similar views, the Inspector of Factories, Y Srividya, who was the guest of honour, also spoke on the safety benchmark of NTPC-Ramagundam.

Speaking on the occasion, Ram Kuber, General Manager (O&M) said that NTPC-Ramagundam was marching ahead with adherence to safety guidelines. V Seetharam, Senior Manager (Safety) read out the safety report besides highlighting the Swarn Shakti Award received under the safety category. NTPC senior officials, office bearers of different trade unions and associations, employees, CISF jawans, children and others were present.
