Consumers asked to be vigilant about their rights
State Consumers Councils Federation Vice-Chairman Pallepadu Damodar has appealed the consumers to be vigilant in protecting their rights. He expressed concern over the exploitation of consumers by multi-national companies (MNCs). The MNCs, in the process of earning profits, were neglecting the consumers’ rights.
Atmakur (Warangal): State Consumers Councils Federation Vice-Chairman Pallepadu Damodar has appealed the consumers to be vigilant in protecting their rights. He expressed concern over the exploitation of consumers by multi-national companies (MNCs). The MNCs, in the process of earning profits, were neglecting the consumers’ rights.
The consumers were being misguided by advertisement campaigns by the companies. He addressed a consumer awareness programme at Ladella village of Atmakur mandal on Thursday marking ‘World Consumer Rights Day’ observed on March 15 every year.
He asked the consumers to approach the council if they suffer loss of money or property due to faulty products or services. The consumers must make it a point to demand receipt while making a purchase which would help them to get justice if they suffered loss.
