Maoist activist Kavitha surrenders
Maoist party Eturunagaram-Mahadevpur committee member Kunjum Idumas alias Kavitha has on Friday surrendered before rural Superintendent of Police Ambar Kishore Jha. 20-year-old Kavitha hails from Neelampalligumpu in Eturunagaram Mandal in Warangal district.

She joined the Maoist party in 2012, encouraged by a Maoist activist, Mekala Raju alias Murali and worked in Venkatapur area committee. Later in July 2013, she was shifted to Eturunagaram-Mahadevpur committee under Khammam-Karimnagar-Warangal (KKW) division committee.
She, along with KKW secretary Bade Chokka Rao alias Damodar, engaged in the party activities in the villages situated in Telangana-Chhattisgarh borders. Kavitha was involved in exchange of fire with police two times in Chhattisgarh State and took part in an ambush at Minapa where three policemen were killed.
She developed aversion to Maoist policies recently and also become ill due to which she decided to surrender. She surrendered before Warangal police as the surrender policy of Telangana government was attractive. The SP, Jha said the Maoists were attracting innocent tribal girls and boys to join their party with false ideals.
The Maoist should give up their struggle and join mainstream life as the state government has been offering rehabilitation to surrendered Naxals to live a normal life, he added.
