Nizamabad: District Collector Yogita Rana warned the officials of the Medical and Health, Women and Child Welfare Department that stringent action would be taken against them if any pregnant woman who registers at government hospital undergoes delivery in a private hospital.

Interacting through a video conference with the officials of the respective departments, Collector Rana directed the officials concerned to register the details of the pregnant women within 12 weeks after conceiving and provide them with medicine, iron, folic acid pills and nutritious food under the Aarogya Lakshmi scheme. They should also conduct medical tests and fix the delivery dates, she added.

The District Collector said that the health plan in high-risk pregnancy cases should be prepared and details should be made available to the concerned hospitals in advance at the village level and mandal levels. She told the medical and welfare department staff to encourage women to join government hospitals for undergoing deliveries.

She said that awareness among pregnant women and their family members should be created at the village level meetings. Collector said that the government hospital doctors and other paramedical staff should not go on sudden leaves absenting from their duties. She directed the DMHO to examine attendance registers Rana suggested to the doctors to maintain the out patients register.

She said that the doctors should sign in the movements register giving full details The doctors and other staff should follow dress code and wear badges about their designation strictly. DMHO Dr. Venkat, ICDS PD Meera Benarji and other officials were present.
