Stringent steps to prevent crime against women: SP
District Superintendent of Police D Joel Davis informed that severe steps were taken to control crime against women in the district. As part of the process, awareness camps have been organised to educate the people, especially youth about the laws. The SP conducted a crime review meeting at the district police headquarters here on Monday.

Speaking on the occasion, he informed that besides setting up closed circuit cameras at hostels, bus stands and other vital places, Flexies explaining about convictions were also setup. Informing that steps were taken to strengthen SHE teams, SP informed that a committee along with women police officers was also formed and complaint boxes would also be established at hotels, bus stations and other important centres.
Terming juvenile cases as very sensitive, Joel Davis asked the cops to take necessary steps for early disposal of cases by producing evidences in the court as early as possible.
