Hyderabad: Power Minister G Jagadish Reddy here on Wednesday predicted that Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) would be the only party to remain on the political horizon of Telangana State by 2019 general elections.

Interacting with media persons in the Assembly lobbies here, the Minister said the Congress would disappear by next elections like the TDP did in the general elections in the State and in the recent civic body elections in Hyderabad.

“If the Congress disappears in another three years or so, the party leaders have to make it to the ruling party. Two Congress leaders, Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and Rajgopal Reddy were contemplating joining the ruling party,” the Minister said.

But the TRS was not in a position to invite them immediately. “Probably his voice was ambiguous, hinting at inviting the Congress leaders into the ruling party. The Congress leaders have been trying to join our party after the elections and State formation,” he added.

He also reminded that he and other senior leaders of the party had objected to the idea of the TRS forging an alliance with the BJP in the last elections. The Minister felt that the ruling party was not in a position to accommodate them.

He said the Congress and the TDP leaders were joining the ruling party because they strongly believe in the development of the State by the TRS government.
