Hyderabad: Following allegations of irregularities by the officers in implementation of Shaadi Mubarak, a prestigious scheme launched by the State government, the Anti-Corruption Bureau officials on Thursday conducted searches at the Shadi Mubarak office in Hyderabad. The Shaadi Mubarak scheme is meant to help girls, aged above 18 years, belonging to Muslim community to received Rs 51,000 for marriage expenses. The scheme became operational since October 2, 2014.

The ACB officials on Thursday conducted searches at the District Minority Welfare office located in Hajj House at Nampally and collected the documents pertaining to the scheme. “In Hyderabad, there are 16 mandals, out of which the officials have collected the data pertaining to 12 mandals to verify the genuineness of beneficiaries of the scheme,” ACB DSP Ashok Kumar told the media.
