State to have 89 sports stadiums

Hyderabad: Sports Minister T Padma Rao Goud informed that the government would come up with sports stadiums in 89 Assembly constituencies. These stadiums coming up at a cost of Rs 2.65 crore each would be ready by the end of the year, he said.

Replying during Question Hour in Legislative Council on Thursday, the Minister said most of the stadiums had progressed the halfway mark in terms of construction and some were ready to be inaugurated.

He said for the remaining 30 Assembly constituencies, the government was yet to receive proposals. While welcoming proposals, he said the government was ready to allot funds if the local authorities came up with good proposals.
