Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWS&SB) on Sunday declared that the water supplied through Godavari Drinking Water Supply Project Phase-I was consumable. Water Board managing director B Janardhan Reddy held a review meeting to check the quality of water supplied from Mallaram Water Treatment Plant and Ghanpur reservoir and said that treated water sample was found to be satisfactory.

GM (E) Ramana Rao inspected the Ghanpur reservoir on Sunday and reported that treated water sample was found to be satisfactory. The consumers who are getting water through Godavari project in localities including Quthbullapur, Kukatpally, Serilingampally, Ameerpet, Borabanda, Banjara Hills and Jubilee Hills are advised to boil and filter the water before consumption. However, instructions were given to Quality Assurance & Testing Wing to intensively monitor the quality of water supplied for a couple of days till normalcy is restored.
