The National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) organised the 11th Village Quality Circles Convention under its Corporate Social Responsibility-Community Development (CSR-CD) activities on Monday. A total of eight members of Village Quality Circles from the nearby villages participated in the convention and presented their topics.

A total of eight members of Village Quality Circles from the nearby villages participated in the convention and presented their topics.

The main thrust of the convention was village development which covered topics like education, health, sanitation, employment and infrastructure. NTPC Executive Director Prashant Kumar Mohapatra who was the chief guest at the closing ceremony lauded the participants for their enthusiasm and concern for their villages.

He expressed the hope that the NTPC’s efforts would result in the overall development of the villages. He urged the villagers to come forward in the successful completion of the Telangana project.During this occasion, the chief guest presented mementoes and trophies to the participants and the winning Village Quality Circles.

Based on their performance, the jury has declared Abhaya Village Quality Circle from Laxmipuram as winner. Mother Theresa Village Quality Circle from Mughalpahad and Annapurna Village Quality Circle from Annapurna Colony were adjudged the First and Second Runners-up respectively. E Nand Kishore, Head of HR (in-charge), CSR officials and others were present on the occasion.
