World Water Day observed at NTPC-Ramagundam on March 22, 2016 as a means of focusing attention on the importance of freshwater and advocating for the sustainable management of freshwater resources.

The Theme in 2016: Water and Jobs is focusing on how enough quantity and quality of water can change workers' lives and livelihoods and even transform societies and economies.

For the awareness of employees and others, the World Water Day celebration at NTPC-Ramagundam featured display of banners and placards emphasizing the importance of freshwater. In the run-up to the World Water Day, Essay writing and tree plantation was carried out at Kasturba Gandhi Girls High School, Kundanpalli earlier.

NTPC-Ramagundam has been taking up several initiatives towards water conservation including recycling of water, Storm Water Management and drinking water supply to nearby villages.

11th Village QC Convention

NTPC-Ramagundam has organised 11th Village Quality Circles Convention under its CSR-CD activities on March 22, 2016. A total of eight Village Quality Circles from nearby villages participated in the convention and presented their topic excellently. The main thrust of the convention was village development which includes topics like education, health, sanitation, employment, infrastructure, etc.

Chief Guest at the closing ceremony Shri Prasant Kumar Mohapatra, ED-Ramagundam appreciated the participants for their enthusiasm and concern for their village. He hoped that NTPC-Ramagundam CSR in synergy with villagers will strive for overall development of the villages. He hoped that villagers will come forward in successful completion of Telangana project.

During this occasion, the chief guest presented mementoes and trophies to the participant and winning Village Quality Circles. Based on their performance, the jury has declared Abhaya Village Quality Circle from Laxmipuram as winner. Mother Teresa Village Quality Circle from Mughalpahad and Annapurna Village Quality Circle from Annapurna Colony were adjudged First and Second Runners-up respectively.
