District Collector P Satyanarayana Reddy said the disease, Tuberculosis (TB) could be prevented with proper and regular treatment. On the occasion of World TB Day, he inaugurated ‘Cibinot’ machine at the District Headquarter Hospital here on Thursday. This machine will detect the TB status in a patient. 

Nalgonda: District Collector P Satyanarayana Reddy said the disease, Tuberculosis (TB) could be prevented with proper and regular treatment. On the occasion of World TB Day, he inaugurated ‘Cibinot’ machine at the District Headquarter Hospital here on Thursday. This machine will detect the TB status in a patient.

Later addressing the gathering, the Collector said earlier it used to take two to three months to identify TB but with the machine ‘Cibinot’, it can be traced out within 3 to 4 hours which will help in providing immediate treatment to the patient. He advised the patients to follow the directions of the doctors and use full course of medicine for the permanent cure.

He advised TB patients to take all precautionary measures while moving in public. The Collector informed that there were about 4,000 TB patients in the district. He appreciated the District TB Control Society for getting state-wide recognition in providing better services to patients. He advised the officials concerned to work hard for better results. District TB Control Officer Arundhati, DMHO Dr Bhanu Prasad Naik, District Government Hospital Superintendent Dr Amar and others participated in the programme.
