Hyderabad: The Telangana State government on Saturday demanded the Union government to release the second installment of Rs. 450 crore to the State for the development of backward districts. In a letter to the Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitely, the TS Finance Minister E Rajendar said that the centre had already released second installment of special assistance for the development of seven districts in Andhra Pradesh, while the TS government was yet to receive funds.

He said that Rs. 450 crore of the first installment has been released for the development of nine Telangana districts based on the recommendations made by the NITI Aayog. The TS government submitted a proposal of Rs. 1000 crore assistance for this year.
