Warangal: With the help of the Vidya Vikasa Padhakam, which was started in 2007, around 1.16 lakh students received help in 380 government schools, informed the Bala Vikasa social service organisation Executive Director S Showry Reddy. Speaking at a review meeting of Vidya Vikasa Padhakam on Monday, he said that with the assistance of Syed Labs, 42 government schools in Nangunoor Mandal of Medak district were provided benches for the academic year, 2015-16.

Similarly, Eco Clubs were set up at 15 schools where Rs 40 lakh were spent to provide 10 libraries, 700 sets of benches for 2,900 students and planted 3,000 fruit bearing trees. The programme officer Tirupati and coordinator Prasoon Reddy outlined the objectives of Vidya Vikasa Padhakam to the teachers, parents and students from Nangunoor mandal. Later, prizes were distributed to the students who excelled in a talent test.
