Declare TS drought-hit: Rytu JAC
The Rytu Joint Action Committee on Tuesday demanded the State government to declare entire Telangana State as drought hit. Besides, it has also asked the government for one time settlement of pending loan waiver and implement revised drought management plan.
Hyderabad: The Rytu Joint Action Committee on Tuesday demanded the State government to declare entire Telangana State as drought hit. Besides, it has also asked the government for one time settlement of pending loan waiver and implement revised drought management plan.
Addressing the media at the Somajiguda Press Club, the Telangana Rytu JAC leaders have asked the State government to revise the existing drought manual and prepare a drought management plan which includes the relief work before April. They have also asked the government to implement employment guarantee programme and provide mid-day meals to poor and aged farmers.
The leaders also demanded the government to pay input subsidies which were pending since last season. They also asked the government to provide fodder and water to the livestock immediately. The JAC leaders further suggested that the government should encourage and support farmers to shift from the BT cotton production.
