Officials asked to expedite works of Mission Bhagiratha, Kakatiya
Deputy Chief Minister K Srihari directed District Collector V Karuna to take steps to expedite the works related to Mission Bhagiratha and Mission Kakatiya in the district. Addressing the general body meeting of the Zilla Parishad here on Saturday. Srihari said that Warangal district was divided into five segments for implementation of the programme.

Addressing the general body meeting of the Zilla Parishad here on Saturday. Srihari said that Warangal district was divided into five segments for implementation of the programme.
Plans have been prepared to provide drinking water in 3,405 villages by the year 2017 by spending about Rs 4,433 crores, he said while In the first phase, water would be distributed to villages from the source and in second phase pipe lines would be laid to provide water connections to each household.
Information on segment-wise progress of the works should be submitted to the elected members, Srihari told Collector Karuna. Referring to Mission Kakatiya works, he said in first phase the district stood at first phase and in second phase proposals were submitted to include 1,222 tanks and approval was given for 657 tanks. Works related to 55 tanks restoration were already started.
Responding to a complaint that Mission Kakatiya bills were being cleared in Eturunagaram without executing the works, the Deputy CM directed the officials concerned to conduct an inquiry and punish the erring officials and contractors. On power situation, Srihari pointed out that the power consumption in the district has gone up after formation of separate Telangana.
In 2014, the daily average consumption was 6.8 million units and it reached to 9.4 million units in the district. There was an estimated 20 per cent increase in the power consumption. 28 new 33/11 KV capacity sub-stations were sanctioned to the district along with new 400 KV capacity sub-stations at Jangaon and Bachannapet.
The Deputy CM directed the electricity officials to prepare plans to set up a sub-station at Eturunagaram. District Collector Karuna informed that efforts were being made to fix full tank level (FTL) of 300 tanks through private agencies.80 per cent works were completed in first phase Mission Kakatiya and remaining works would be completed by May 2016.
