Hyderabad: The Telangana State government is planning to set up 3,000 free Wi-Fi hotspots to facilitate better coordination between various departments in the Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation limits. This decision was taken at an inter-departmental coordination meeting held at Buddha Purnima project on Saturday. GHMC Commissioner B Janardhan Reddy, HMDA Commissioner T Chiranjeevulu,

Hyderabad district Collector Rahul Bojja, Rangareddy district Collector M Raghunandan Rao, Secunderabad Cantonment CEO Sujatha Gupta and Traffic DCP LS Chowhan have participated in the meeting.The meeting felt that the idea to set 3,000 Wi-Fi hotspots in the city would help the departments to coordinate during taking up Musi regeneration project, double bedroom houses and other flagship programmes of the Telangana State government.

The government would also create a convergence portal in this regard. The software process is also being completed and it will be launched soon, GHMC Commissioner said.The GHMC commissioner has asked HMDA Commissioner and Rangareddy Collector to furnish the list of government lands available for River Musi project.

He also said that the construction of houses under Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission (JNNURM) has been completed and beneficiaries are identified. He also instructed officials to handover the houses to the beneficiaries at the earliest.
