Telangana BJP president G Kishan Reddy on Monday addressed a press conference in Hyderabad where he charged the Telangana government for failing completely in taking up relief measures for the drought conditions in the state. Stating that 30 lakh people migrated from rural areas due to the severe drought conditions, Kishan Reddy announced that BJP has decided to allocate 10 teams to all the districts on Tuesday to study drought situations and following their inputs, reports would be submitted to the Governor and State Government.

Alleging that the TRS government has not spent a single penny for drought even though Rs 730 crores were released by the Centre, the BJP leader hit on the irregularities and misuse of funds by the government in Mission Bhagiratha and Mission Kakatiya.

Kishan Reddy also took on the party defections taking place in the TRS party in spite of the majority and accused that TRS Government was promoting defections by threatening or coercing public representatives from other parties to defect to the ruling party by offering them important positions in the party. He further revealed that from April 17, BJP leaders would visit villages to create awareness among people on the Central government initiated schemes for agriculture and rural development.
