Hyderabad: The Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) on Tuesday initiated disciplinary action against the officials who were found to have been involved in irregularities in Swachh Bharat auto distribution and fake attendance in all 24 circles in the city.
The GHMC not only removed an Assistant Medical Officer Health (AMOH) but also booked criminal cases against him. The GHMC surrendered circle 9 AMOH K Rama Rao to his parent department and registered criminal case against circle 14 AMOH P Muralidhar Gupta. Dr Kavita took charge as AMOH in circle 9, according to Health and Sanitation Additional Commissioner N Ravi Kiran.

GHMC commissioner B Janardhan Reddy instructed the officials to send proposals to Directorate of Medical Education for recruiting AMOHs. He also asked AMOHs to take attendance of sanitation workers daily in the field itself to check irregularities and to improve the sanitation in the city. He also directed them to reintroduce bio-metric attendance system to minimise irregularities in the sanitation wing and save corporation’s money.
GHMC commissioner also directed the officials to allocate shops in the newly- constructed model markets to the eligible persons. He asked them to identify space to construct multilevel parking complexes, model markets, dumping yards and graveyards in the GHMC limits.
Zonal commissioner Gowrav Uppal, Hari Chandana Das, Gangadhar Reddy, Raghu Prasad and additional commissioner Surendra Mohan, Ramakrishna Rao, Jayraj Kennedy, Ravi Kiran and other senior officials attended the meeting.
