Hyderabad: The TS Wakf Board CEO Md Asadullah is in the line of fire. Also, he would be transferred back to his parent department, the CCLA (Chief Commissioner of Land Administration) shortly.

Officially his term was supposed to end by this April as he took charges in the same month last year. Officials said, as per the rules he can continue in the post till October.
But, some political groups are reportedly pressurising the Secretariat officials to consider in joining date as April 2015 and conclude his term by end of this month.
The current CEO had initiated criminal action against several encroachers and recovered hundreds of acres of land, mostly within Hyderabad.
“This is not the first time that a sincere official is being transferred under political pressure. But he was the first to bring in a draft proposal to the government for Act, which gives Wakf Board judicial powers,” says the source.
The official who rose against the land mafia encroaching up on several crores worth Wakf properties across the State in recent months drew accolades from civil society groups and also some leaders in the ruling party. They point out at the achievements of the CEO include preservation of the Mecca Madina Wakf in Pathergatti which had been under the hands of a single family for the last 60 years.
He also initiated criminal action against a fake Mutawalli who has been collecting Rs 30 lakh per year from tenants of Wakf property in Madinaguda, near Miyanpur, stalled illegal construction adjacent to Masjid Nana Bagh in Basheerbagh and took possession of Wakf properties in several locations in Khammam town.
One of the major steps he took forward was to bring in reforms in Wakf Board including drafting of Citizen and Duty charter so that officials are answerable.
The sources say that honest officials like Shaik Mohammed Iqbal or M J Akbar were transferred some time back, we hope that Asadullah continues,” said Tahreek Muslim Shaban president Md Mustaq Malik.
