The Utnoor ITDA government body meeting held here on Thursday witnessed heated discussions on drinking water problem and the members accused the authorities of not paying attention to the people’s water woes. The meeting commenced amidst protests by members who alleged that they were rendered mere figureheads for want of devolution of funds and powers. 

Utnoor (Adilabad): The Utnoor ITDA government body meeting held here on Thursday witnessed heated discussions on drinking water problem and the members accused the authorities of not paying attention to the people’s water woes. The meeting commenced amidst protests by members who alleged that they were rendered mere figureheads for want of devolution of funds and powers.

The government has been allocating higher funds to MLAs but neglecting them on fund allocation. They relented when Ministers Jogu Ramanna and Indrakaran Reddy responded positively to their demands and assured them to look into the matter. Several ZPTC members highlighted the drinking water problem in their respective constituencies and sought drinking water supply.

Jogu Ramanna agreed to take steps to redress the problem. To a demand on pattas to farmers cultivating forest lands, Jogu Ramanna said the government is ready to give pattas to farmers. The members highlighted the problems in PHCs and also the problem at Utnoor PHC. They also sought road communication facilities to Agency villages.
