Congress MP Hanumantha Rao announced one-day fast he intends to take up seeking reservations in the private sector along within the judiciary for oppressed communities. The one day fast would take place on April 16 at Indira Park.

Releasing a letter he wrote to Irrigation Minister Harish Rao to take up the desiltation of the twin reservoirs - Osmansagar and Himayathsagar to supply drinking water in Hyderabad, Mr Rao said that the government should include the two lakes in Mission Kakatiya for desiltation in order to gather more water in the rainy season.
Speaking on the party defections of MLA Chittem Rammohan Reddy, the Congress leader said that TPCC chief Uttam Kumar Reddy and CLP leader Jana Reddy should take immediate steps in order to prevent the defections.
