Nalgonda: District Collector P Satyanarayana Reddy stated that the district administration was taking all the necessary steps to cater the minimum needs of drinking water to the public and livestock in the district.

Addressing a press meet on Wednesday, he explained the present status of water in Nagarjuna Sagar and Srisailam dams, and water table in the district. He also explained how the district administration was supplying water to various habitations. The Collector requested the public to avoid water wastage.

Speaking on increased mercury levels and ongoing heat wave in the district from the last four days, he said children, elders and women must take all the precautionary measures while at home or outside. He advised public not to roam outside between 1 pm to 4 pm to avoid sunstroke.

Satyanarayana reiterated Metrological department forecast for the next three days and requested the public to take utmost care till the end of summer. Joint Collector Dr N Satyanarayana, DRO Ravi Naik, DWAMA Project Director Damoder Reddy, RWS superintending engineer and others participated.
