Caesarean operations rising in Telangana: Collector
District Collector Dr Yogita Rana has expressed concern over Telangana figuring among the top three states that recorded the highest cesarean operations performed in the country and directed ICDS officials to gather information from private nursing homes about the number of surgeries performed and ascertain reasons for the same.

Addressing the ICDS officials at Pragati Bhavan here on Saturday, she said the surgeries were being performed in government and private hospitals in the ratio of 35:65. Observing that complaints about private nursing homes performing cesarean sections unnecessarily were apparently true, she asked the ICDS supervisors and CPDOs to submit report on deliveries in various hospitals during March, including those done through cesarean section.
