According to an official release, Telangana Additional Director General (law and order) Sudeep Lakhtakia released the question paper set code ‘G’ for SI Civil examination at Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University in Kukatpally. Telangana State Level Police Recruitment Board Chairman J Purnachandra Rao said that about 93.92 percent of 1,86,319 candidates attended the preliminary test.

For SI (Communication) examination, a total of 12,629 candidates registered while 10,584 candidates appeared for the examination. At Kukatpally, two candidates who were late by two minutes for the SI (civil) examination, at Rishi MS Institute of Engineering and Technology for Women were not allowed to write the exam, whereas, at a few examination centres, officials allowed candidates who were late by 10 minutes also.

In Warangal's Vagdevi College, three candidates were not allowed inside the examination hall. In the morning session held from 10 am to 1 pm, the examination was held for SI posts (civil), armed reserve police and other departments and in the afternoon session from 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm test was held for Communications SI posts. To prevent mass copying, the police department implemented the bio-metric system to conduct the test.
