Hyderabad: Adopting technology is equal to sensitising human elements among the officers for making policing citizen-friendly, opined Telangana Chief Secretary Dr Rajiv Sharma. He was addressing media after inaugurating the new command control centre and Crime Data Analysis Management System at Cyberabad Police Commissionerate on Monday.

He said that Hyderabad witnessed rapid changes in terms of technology for transforming it into a technology hub and added that the act of cracking several impossible cases along with ensuring justice to the victims proves the power of technology.

He appreciated the efforts of Cyberabad police for taking up measures to provide safer space for women and techies. “These initiatives need to be carried forward with appropriate technologies and funds for ensuring more productive policing. Police should live up to the expectations of the government in establishing a peaceful environment,” the CS said.

Speaking at the event, Cyberabad Police Commissioner C V Anand said that it was difficult for police officers working in the commissionerate to manage without having a command control centre. It minimises the complex work and helps them to monitor the commissionerate.

“The centre with highly-efficient optical fibre cables helps to monitor remote areas of Cyberabad. The CDAMS in Cyberabad has many advanced tools that help police to crack cases at the earliest,” said Anand.

The commissioner said that they are aiming to install 50,000 cameras by 2019 and added that women safety, traffic and cyber security would be given the highest priority.
