Nalgonda: CPI leader Palla Venkat Reddy and MLA Ramavath Ravindra Kumar slammed the State government for changing its thoughts on irrigation projects and delay in extending assistance to the farmers and public in drought-hit mandals in the district.
The CPI team on Monday toured various mandals to know the drought status. Later addressing the media in Nalgonda, the leaders questioned Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao about his poll promise of supply of irrigation water to one lakh acres of land in each Assembly constituency. They raised objections on the government’s decision to redesign the irrigation projects without consulting the Opposition leaders. They said Nakkalagandi Lift irrigation project is the only one which could develop Nalgonda and demanded result oriented help to the public of drought-hit mandals.
