858 gelatin sticks seized, 3 nabbed

Nalgonda: Acting on a tip off, police conducted surprise raids on some houses of Gottiparthi and Ravulapalli villages in Thungathurthy mandal during the early hours of Tuesday and took into custody three persons.

During the raids, police recovered illegally stored 858 gelatin sticks and 915 electronic detonators and arrested Shivarathri Biksham, Rupani Santosh and Varusu Buchaiah.

Upon inquiry, the arrested persons informed the police that Dasru Naik of Palakurthi in neighbouring Warangal district supplied the explosives. Thungathurthy Sub-Inspector Dasharatha registered a case and sent a special team to arrest the supplier Dasru Naik.
