NREGS workers stage protests

Birkur (Nizamabad): Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Empolyment Guarantee Scheme workers held protest demonstrations at the post office in the mandl headquarters on Tuesday deman ding the payment of salaries. They also entered into a heated arguments with the staff of the postal department as to why they were only paid wages only for two weeks though they should have been paid two months salaries.

APO Akmal said that they were unable to pay salaries to the workers as the State government had released only Rs 49 lakh though it should have released Rs 1 crore.
