Hyderabad: TRS party has sought the permission of Chief Electoral Officer Bhanwar Lal to hold the Telangana Rashtra Samithi plenary at Khammam on April 27.
A letter written by Minister for Information and Technology K T Rama Rao on behalf of the party was handed over to the CEO by Hyderabad Mayor B Rammohan on Wednesday.
The Minister said that TRS was organising party plenary every year and added that this year Khammam was selected for holding the meeting.
He said that all arrangements were made for the event. Different committees were also constituted for making arrangements. The Election Commission of India (ECI) announced byelections for Palair Assembly constituency which fell vacant after the death of member Ramreddy Venkat Reddy.
The Minister said that since the programme was scheduled long ago and there was no sufficient time to shift the venue at this juncture, he appealed to the CEO to permit the party to hold its plenary in Khammam.
